PLAN YOUR GROUP VISIT
Home from The Sea is a highly rated experience and a destination of choice for student and adult traveling groups. We offer guided tours for up to 30 persons at a time. We tailor stories, educational resources, and guided experiences to suit the average age and baseline knowledge of each tour group.
The cost of a guided group tour includes museum admission with the total cost per person dependent on additional services requested and the size of the specific group. Contact us. We are here to help you plan your visit!
HOW TO BOOK
To assure access and support services, an advance reservation is required for all groups in excess of 15 persons. Simply fill out our online booking form and we will connect with you to answer questions and iron out any additional details.
We recommend you book your time slot at least three weeks in advance so we can coordinate guides and curate your experience.

- Walk the Interpretive Path and visit the seaside Sculpture and Memorial.
POLICIES
Group Policies
- Admission to special exhibits is included in the group admission fees.
- Group rates apply to groups of 15 visitors or more.
- Admission is free for children under the age of five.
- Adult group leaders must remain with students and children at all times.
Student Supervision Requirements
- Teachers and accompanying adults play an important role in helping us ensure our school programs run smoothly. We appreciate your help in keeping the group together, managing behaviour, and ensuring that rules are being followed.
- Please note that the required ratio for a school visit is one adult supervisor for every ten students.
- All are welcome here. Please provide advance notice if any special accommodations are required.
Changes and Cancellations
- HFTS must be informed in writing of changes or cancellations at least 14 days prior to the visit. Otherwise, the total cost of the booking will be charged to the credit card provided when the booking was made.
- There is no charge for cancellations due to major weather-related transportation issues (such as ferry cancellations)
Complimentary Admission Policy
- Tour Operators: The group tour leader and the bus driver (per motor coach)
- School Groups: All accompanying teachers are free with their group
- Additional accompanying adults: one adult per every 10 children/students
- Other additional accompanying adults pay the group rate.
Payment
To guarantee access, payment in full is required at the time of booking.
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS?
Can we bring a small group to the interpretation center without booking?
Yes. However, with a capacity of approximately 30 visitors at a time we would encourage you to book ahead. Without doing so, HFTS cannot guarantee that all of your group will be able to progress through the interpretation centre at the same time. Always best to book ahead!
Will we be turned away if we haven’t booked?
No! We do our best to accommodate all visitors. However, groups who haven’t booked at least three weeks in advance may not be granted priority. During peak periods you may experience delays in entering.
Can we book a group on short notice?
While we strive to accommodate everyone, the more notice we have the better. For groups who have not booked at least three weeks in advance, it may not be possible to grant priority access.
How important is it to keep to the entry time?
Tour groups should stick to their booking time wherever possible. If your tour is running late, we are usually able to accommodate your schedule. However, for longer delays during peak periods, we may not be able to guarantee guide availability or priority entry.
If numbers change after a booking is made, can the booking be amended?
Yes. You can do this in advance by telephone or e-mail. Tour group leaders bringing more people than originally booked can pay in advance or at the centre upon arrival.
